What does BOTOX treat?

BOTOX is commonly used to treat moderate to advanced signs of aging, or as a preventive measure for younger people. While popularly used for non-invasive facial rejuvenation, BOTOX can also be used to treat excessive sweating, certain eye disorders, migraines, or as an alternative treatment for TMJ (temporomandibular joint) disorders, and to slim a heavy, square jawline.

Before & After

Reasons to undergo this procedure

BOTOX is one of the most popular neuromodulators used for battling signs of aging and relieving certain medical conditions. If you are unhappy with the way your face has aged over the years, or if you suffer from a problem outside of facial rejuvenation, you can achieve highly successful results with BOTOX. This treatment addresses the following concerns:

  • Deep facial wrinkles
  • Frown lines, crow’s feet, and laugh lines
  • Excessive sweating
  • TMJ or overdeveloped jawline
  • Migraines
  • Neurologic facial disorders
  • Other non-cosmetic applications

What are the benefits?

BOTOX offers a multitude of benefits in a wide variety of applications. However, achieving authentic results will require extreme precision to achieve the desired outcome and to avoid unwanted effects. The initial consultation

As with any cosmetic procedure, it is essential to meet with Dr. Sedgh for a proper assessment. During your initial consultation, Dr. Sedgh will take the time to get to know you so that he can understand your specific cosmetic goals.

After a thorough evaluation, he will then provide you with the best method for achieving your desired results. He will also perform the following:

  • Evaluate your face and skin
  • Interview you about your medical history and lifestyle
  • Perform optional allergy testing
  • Explain all aspects of the procedure

Patients From Out of Town

Patients residing outside of the Los Angeles area or the US can have their initial consultations with Dr. Sedgh via video conferencing. Should you decide to have the procedure under his care, his office offers comprehensive medical tourism services to make your trip more convenient. They can assist you with travel and accommodation, as well as provide aftercare and concierge services if needed.

Is it Painful?

The process of administering our BOTOX treatment is relatively simple and virtually painless. It does not require any anesthesia, but Dr. Sedgh may apply an ice pack or a cold compress to the area, and perhaps a topical anesthetic ointment, to help numb the skin and make the procedure more comfortable. However, if you have a low pain tolerance for injections, you can discuss your specific anesthetic needs with the doctor before the procedure.

Once the affected areas are sufficiently numbed, Dr. Sedgh will then begin injecting BOTOX into strategic locations, making sure to inject right into the muscle with precision and accuracy to limit the diffusion of the substance. His advanced injection technique ensures that the product stays within the confines of the injected sites without affecting other areas of the face, which is key to producing pleasing, authentic, natural-looking results. The entire procedure takes between 10 to 20 minutes.

How many injections will I need?

It will typically require several injections, depending on how many units are needed, to adequately address each issue. Usually, more extensive areas or areas with thicker and stronger muscles, such as around the mouth or in the space between the eyebrows, will require more units to achieve the desired effect.

When Will I See the Results?

It usually takes at least three days for the initial results to be visible, and up to two weeks to see the full results. To continuously enjoy the benefits of Botox you will need to repeat the treatment at two to three times each year, or as prescribed by Dr. Sedgh.
